Stefan Mychajliw brings a unique media and political skillset to Big Dog Strategies. Stefan was a hard-hitting investigative broadcast journalist for decades, spending years in front of the camera where he built a TV career holding politicians accountable. It wasn’t fake news back then.

In 2012, Mychajliw ditched the microphone for good and won three-county wide elections in dark blue Buffalo, New York as the Erie County Comptroller.  He won national accounting and auditing awards for uncovering government waste and abuse. Believe us, there was a lot to uncover, and Stefan did as the Taxpayer’s Watchdog.

 

His most proud honor: receiving the Erie County Republican Committee’s Lincoln Leadership Award in 2018.

 

Mychajliw knows crisis communications well, having started a fire or two as a television news reporter, and how to put them out as a county-wide politician for nine years. Exposing fraud and giving businesses 100-years to pay back COVID related fines led to regular appearances on FOX News, Tucker Carlson Tonight, and CNN.
